“Fake it ’til you make it” – one of the most common catchphrases this century.

While some people see it as a negative way to get ahead, dental-hygienist-turned-entreprenuer Felicia Doucet took the optimism and ran with it. Doucet decided to start her own business to let ladies continue being confident, magnify their beauty, and give them the attention their skin, nails, and face deserve.

Opened officially June 8, 2015, FAKEit! is a spray tan and beauty bar is located on the outskirts of Little Italy. Services besides custom spray tans include manicures, pedicures, make-up application, and even tutorial lessons – brought to you by artist Anita Deanne.

Doucet started mobile around the city and found it difficult to brand herself; “I decided while keeping my full-time job, I would go back to school to learn more of esthetics.”

A location that once held Phat Boy Productions (a wedding disc jockey and media service) with orange walls, now is toned down with mint accents, gold typography and a feminine touch.

“We found the orange definitely did not work, as tying spray tans to that colour is a huge thing of humour,” joke Doucet. “The difference with me: I don’t want the community to be ‘orange.’ That’s why we have an entirely different solution.”

So what is the secret to that perfect olive glow? Green undertones. “I have always had really pale skin, and just wanted a spray tan for my birthday one year,” Doucet reflects on the start of the business. “Every business I called around town offered the same thing. I wanted a different approach, so I ordered my own products online and was inspired. Now I want the girls of Windsor to have the same!”
