You may feel all alone, but you don't have to be. Utilize the free services of the community, such as the Small Business Centre, attend workshops and networking events. Bounce ideas off of family and friends. Utilize the expertise of your bank loan officer, your bookkeeper, lawyer, etc. They all want to see you succeed and want to help you in the process.

Do your research and prepare a business plan

A lot of research, time and effort is required to prepare a business plan, which is an essential document when applying for a loan. However, it is important to learn all you can about the business you want to start and the industry in which you will operate in order to become an expert on the products and services you will offer. Build credibility by joining related industry associations and keep up with trends and ever-changing consumer demands.
